The Beginning

What started as a small chicken shop in a busy bylane of Borivali, a suburb of Mumbai has transformed today into a formidable poultry processing company – Sethwala Foods Ltd.

The dream was conceived by the very enterprising Sethwala brothers whose commitment to service, quality and strong industry relationships have been the cornerstone for the company’s remarkable growth story.

Our growth story was triggered by a setback

“Operating from the store in Borivali, the idea of setting up a processing plant came by when we were dismissed as distributors of a leading poultry company as they were consolidating their distribution network. We thought that would be the end of our operations but in fact it was just the beginning…”

Soon after that setback, the Sethwala brothers started building relations as chicken traders with all the leading poultry companies in Mumbai. Hard work and perseverance earned them not just a huge clientele in the HoReCa (Hotels, Restaurants & Catering) segment in Mumbai but also gave them the courage to envision the next phase – a poultry processing plant.

Today, Sethwala Foods Ltd. is an FSSC 22000 certified poultry processing company. The processing plant is engineered by Stork in Holland and is located in Talasari in the Palghar District of Maharashtra. With a processing capacity of a whopping 7000 kgs of birds per hour, the ultramodern facility utilizes sophisticated methods and a temperature controlled environment to ensure supply of chicken that is fresh, tender and free from any preservatives. The company has always been and intends to remain a zero-debt company. With strong financials, a dream team of over 600 employees and a self owned logistics fleet of over 50 vehicles, the company caters to the most prestigious and leading players in the HoReCa (Hotels, Restaurants & Catering) segment. Sethwala Foods Ltd. has expanded its product portfolio to include not just processed chicken but a host of value added meat products such as marinated meats, ready to eat meat solutions and frozen vegetables.
